I’ve been building software since 2000, and drawing since long before that. These days I build AWS serverless payment systems at IDEXX, and I run DUSTER, a scheduling platform for ice rinks that I designed, built and illustrated myself.
Six stops, from a one-person studio to a global payments platform. The common thread: I like owning a thing end to end, from the first sketch to the server it runs on.

Senior Application Developer on the payments platform team. I design and build the serverless services behind IDEXX’s global payments: Adyen and Fiserv integrations, card-on-file and tokenization.
Founder and sole engineer. Multi-tenant scheduling for ice rinks and rentable facilities: React up front, Node on Lambda and MySQL behind it, separate dev and prod on AWS.
Lead engineer on the Swift iPad app monument retailers use to design, order and manage customers, plus the services that keep every iPad in sync with the cloud.
Lead engineer on a telemedicine platform: video, messaging and record sharing between vets, pet owners and specialists. WebRTC, Socket.IO, Twilio.
iOS apps that let NHL, AHL and ECHL coaches and players review video and stats during games and practice.
My own studio. Twenty-five years of web, iOS and cloud work for startups and small businesses, from the first wireframe to deployment.
Back ends that move money without drama, and front ends nobody needs a manual for.

At IDEXX I work on the services that take payments around the world. That means Lambda and API Gateway, DynamoDB and SQS, careful handling of stored cards and tokens, and design docs that turn a messy workflow into stories a team can ship.
Give me an idea and a blank repo and I’ll take it all the way to production. I sketch the screens and the data model first. Then I build a React and TypeScript front end served from S3 and CloudFront, sign-in with Cognito, and a Node.js API on Lambda behind API Gateway with MySQL on RDS. Everything is defined as code with SAM and CloudFormation: separate dev and prod, secrets in Secrets Manager, monitoring in CloudWatch, and automated checks that gate every deploy. Need it in your pocket too? I’ve shipped native Swift apps for iPhone and iPad.
That’s exactly how I built DUSTER, a scheduling platform for ice rinks: one person, from the database to the drawings.

Sometimes you don’t need another full-time engineer. You need someone to look hard at what you’ve got and tell you straight. I do that three ways:
I sketch before I build, whether it’s a screen, an architecture diagram or a database. Then it ships through automated checks I wrote that gate every deploy.

Hiring a senior or lead engineer? Need an AWS audit, a code review or a design doc? Or just stuck on something weird? Email me and tell me what you’re working on.
